Wide World Blog: Angkor Wat, CAMBODIA

Blog by Justin Huguet

Temples of Angkor! What an adventure. Our mission began with the daunting challenge of waking up at 4am to catch the sunrise over Angkor Wat. It was well worth it.

Happy to have an early start, we climbed aboard a tuk-tuk and embarked on an exciting 2-day temple crawl. Here we are, raring to go.

We put Indiana Jones in his place, dashing through shady corridors, dodging booby traps and out-running tumbling boulders. We stopped to take some pictures, too.

It was so fun exploring every nook and cranny and popping out of every crevice. Here we are at temples Banteay Kdei, Ta Prohm, Thommanon and Ta Som.

The ancient carvings on the walls of the buildings were almost more impressive than the structures themselves.

Pretty templed-out but happy nonetheless, we hiked up Bakheng Hill and enjoyed a sunset over the valley. A perfect way to end an absolutely incredible several days.
